Who we are
Annexe Communities is a community-led development trust working with people living in central and west Glasgow. We work from our healthy living centre base in Partick.
We develop initiatives to improve wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. We strive to build community capacity and support local people to get actively involved in activitie – shaping and developing new ideas. We train and encourage people to take up volunteering and support their personal development to get involved in their local area.
Participants report the following impacts of our initiatives: feeling more socially connected, being more resilient and an increased sense of purpose with life.
What we do
Annexe Communities works with local people to develop and deliver an activity programmes and wellbeing services.
These include a lunch club for elderly and vulnerable residents, walking groups, art groups, music sessions, healthy cooking, wellbeing support, a social prescribing service and much more.
We also serve as a local community anchor organisation – joining the dots between people, organisations and agencies, identifying and addressing gaps and planning action. In fact we do whatever is necessary to enable people to improve their health and wellbeing!
